you can use this thing for school if you wanted too, its fairly hard to find a herschel bag with water bottle pockets, but this has two! the zippered pocket on the side makes for quick access to anything you decide to put there, plus you can divide the bag into two sections in the big pocket (one high section and one low section), it has a laptop pocket that can fit 3 macbooks, it also has some little compartments for storage. The smaller pocket doesnt have many features, its just an empty space for storage which is fine. It also has detachable straps ! perfect
