This is officially my favorite piece of luggage! It carried plenty of clothes, toiletries and a 17” laptop to Italy and back. So light weight and the straps kept everything tightly in place.I travel a lot for work and wanted something I could use as a suitcase but also as a carry on that I don’t have to check and can under my seat. With all the travel issues going on right now I make sure to pack clothes and anything I’ll need for a day or two just incase my suitcase gets lost. Recently someone I work with had to go purchase clothes at Walmart because his bag was lost and didn’t show up to the hotel for two days. This rolling backpack was perfect for me. It fit everything I needed and I highly recommend it!I really want to like this bag because it’s so lightweight. But you’d know that just be looking at the wheels, this is not going to last a long time. There is no protection around the wheels so I’m sure that the edges beside it will get torn first. I wish they’d address this problem and put protection around that part then and I won’t question its durability.Good enough we bought one for each family member. With vacuum bags we can pack a weeks worth of clothes and avoid checking bags. High capacity, light weight, easily fit in all overhead bins.I made it a point to research the absolute largest carry-on bag I could fly with on European airlines and this was it (although technically I think it was less than a centimeter or so too tall after I did the conversion to metric).The other major consideration was the ability to use it as a backpack because I anticipated lots of cobblestone and other rough surfaces where I was going. I never needed to use the backpack feature, but it looked like it would work well enough for short distances. The straps didn’t appear to be very comfortable for real backpacking, but considering how much crap you can pack in it it gets pretty heavy. You’re allowed 10Kg in your carry-on and I had 9.2.Wheels rolled solid. Handle was sturdy enough, but sensitive enough several times I collapsed it accidentally. Not a big deal to me.Minor minor criticism, it would have been nice to have a couple of pockets on the outside, although inside the first flap there are several.Only minor criticism is the opening of the two compartments. They only open about 80% of the way, so I had to shove a few things down to use the entire space.I have this for quite a while and I'm lovin it. At first, I was worried about the wheels and straps, but then my worries are gone because those are strong enough to carry.I wish I would have taken a photo of this while I was traveling to St. Thomas. I wanted to purchase a bag that I could also use as a backpack in case the wheels broke. BUT… it came in handy so many other times. Like when we had to walk outside down the stairs of the plane. It was so easy to put on as a backpack instead of trying to manage carrying down steps. That happened a few times, where I had to go up and down steps and this backpack was a lifesaver!! I also purchased the packing cubes from here and they were amazing !!! I was able to fit 3 cubes in my bag. The first cube held 6 going out outfits and 3 day dresses. The second held 4 bathing suits and 3 wraps. And the third held 4 days of workout clothes. All rolled up and In this bag! I used the other cubes to hold my sneakers & bras and underwear, and put those in my carryon with my toiletries. This bag also held my laptop. I just loved it! When you roll it, I took the straps abs sort of looped them over the handle before I extended it so it would not drag on the floor. Seriously - perfect for island travel if your pacing very simple easy to roll up clothes, and flip flops. I was away for 7 days.I really wanted to keep this 42L roller backpack but ended up returning it because it was a little too small for what I needed. I bought it for a 14 day Greece trip. We plan to move around between 3-4 islands and do laundry so we are packing light. I wanted a roller backpack because I wanted to pull it most of the time but then wear it as a backpack on cobblestones, ferry planks, etc. I loved the sleek look and design of the Hynes Eagle bag and I liked the shade of gray. It wasn't heavy and had pockets and wheel covers. Unfortunately, the bag was just a a little too small. In packing cubes, I could pack 4 pairs of shorts/pants, 4 tops, PJs, 3 pairs of sandals/flipflops, swimwear, toiletry bag and makeup bag. But I no extra space in case I wanted to buy an item or two during the trip. I debated on keeping the bag for a few days and eventually returned it and got the Mountain Warehouse 50L roller backpack. I like the Hynes Eagle look much more but I like the size of the Mountain Warehouse.This product is awesome. I purchased it because I need a right size for a carry on as my connecting flights to Morocco had very short lay overs, and I didn't want to check in any luggages. Below are my insights.1. This bag being 42L with a carry handle/ole sticking out of its backbone actually reduces the amount of contents going into the bag. So instead of looking the bag as a 42l , you should look it as 39~40L.2. I've dragged this bag through the desert, sandy roads, cements, etc. Very comfortable.3. has a lot of pockets for high utility.4. handles, straps, buckles, zippers all are very strongly designedOverall this bag was bang for the bucks.This bag is great. Used it on a two week trip with lots of internal flights. The shape is ideal for fitting everything in. I had a lot of stuff and it all fit in. Best carry on ever. It's not ideal as a backpack because you really feel the weight (no support frame) but it was a very handy option for the few times it was necessary. Otherwise it rolls perfectly. Has lots of pockets. Well designed. I will definitely use it again.The is nothing but good to say about this product. Bought it for a 2 week trip travelling around Italy. I travelled over many cobblestone streets and staircases. The wheels held out well, just a little fabric wear on one of the front corners, would love to have seen a little reinforcement there.Works well as cabin baggage, I used compression packing cubes, holds tons only problem cubes are so great to compress that you need to pay attention to the weight.Haven't travelled yet but perfect for what I need, love it can be a backpack or pull along! It is going in carryon overhead so will not get wear and tear of checked which was the point. I worried when it arrived it would be too small but everything fits with room to buy more things for my hot vacay. It arrived surprisingly fast too wow!! Good purchase very pleased.
