I bought this backpack last year and used it on a few trips. The first trip was a 16 day trip to southern England. Was able to fit everything I needed into the backpack (I am a light traveler) and keep it with me on the plane and the subway without sticking out as a tourist. It held together nicely during the trip.It did get to experience some rain, but it wasn't too heavy, so I can't speak to the waterproofness of the bag.
