I've searched through what feels like every backpack on the market right now and finally found this one which has all the features I've been trying to find in the $200 packs from REI! The hip belt pockets are actually big enough for a phone and long enough to be easily reachable when wearing the pack. The size is perfect for day hiking and the front zipper pocket is large and has other zipper and mesh compartments inside it to organize your small stuff - so important! That pocket easily fit my GPS communicator, power banks, dog's GPS collar receiver, dog treats, snacks, wallet, keys, etc with room to spare, keeping all of it separate from being squashed in the larger main compartment. This pack is sturdier than the pictures make it look, the fabric is thick and it feels like something you would get at REI. Shoulder straps and hip belt are padded and comfortable. The back is straight instead of curved outward like so many other packs so it keeps the weight close to your body, putting less strain on your back. Hands down the best daypack available right now from someone who's been trying all of them. This is a 28L backpack that is sized as a daypack. There isn't enough room to go on any kind of an expedition but perhaps an overnight trek would be doable. It has an internal frame that bends (it isn't rigid). The part that sits against your back is a mesh and it leaves an airgap between the pack and your back which greatly resists or even eliminate sweating. Lots of room, lots of pockets and storage compartments. There is a padded waste belt but like with other lower cost packs, it doesn't help much if the carry weight is too heavy. This pack is good for about 10 to 15 lbs. Anymore and it puts too much pressure on the shoulders. This backpack represents a good value. It is well made, sturdy and comfortable. There are 3 compartments. The main compartment is spacious and contains a pocket for a water bladder. The middle compartment is smaller and contains small pockets for organizing loose items. The bottom compartment makes a good place to stuff a jacket or other items for easy access. It's too small for a sleeping bag. The main compartment can be joined to the bottom compartment by removing the panel separating the two compartments. I prefer to have a removeable waist belt for times when the load is light or I'm not going that far. However, this is still a really nice backpack.I've used the Kailas Wind Tunnel backpack on a couple short hikes around Prescott, AZ and Camp Verde. So far I haven't experienced any issues with it even though I haven't been gentle with it (tossed it onto the ground/rocks a few times, scuffed some tree branches). The seams are holding and the nylon hasn't ripped even when packed with about 10-15lbs worth of gear.Design wise it's similar to some of the other entry level daypacks from name brand outfitters. I was surprised to see a carbon reinforcement frame on the back. I was worried it may dig into my back when hiking but so far it hasn't. I like the ergonomics of it as well but I haven't gone on any longer day-hikes yet so I'll update this review if I end up disliking it.Got this for my young son, who has outgrown his tiny little 15L pack and is big enough to start packing in some of his own gear - this is big enough for him to grow into (he is 4'/75lbs), but not too big for him to handle provided we don't overload it. Quality seems good enough for scout campouts/state parks - if you're looking for expedition-quality gear, you're not shopping at this price point anyway.Great quality backpack the straps cradles the body well to reduce movement. It’s light weight and spacious. Very comfortable and love the color
